Mental Health Needs More Acknowledgement
As mental health awareness continues to grow among individual populations across the globe, so is the expectation for companies to acknowledge mental health for their employees. Unfortunately, many workplaces in the world still fail to acknowledge mental health as something that is worth their concern. As a result, there exists a large divide between workplaces that publicly acknowledge mental health and care for their employees, and those who do not.
Our model above looked at a dataset from Open Sourcing Mental Illness in 2014 to examine the differences in employee performance between companies that support their employees' mental health, and those who don't. Our full anlysis linked below drew many more relations between how an employee's mental health is treated and their performance in the workplace. Finally, we ran analysis models that showed statistically significant proof that mental health in the technology field is still a problem that needs to be addressed today.
